Canada Express Entry is the most well-known immigration system that offers Canadian permanent residency, which was introduced by the Federal government in January of 2015 to replace the previous “first come, first served” process.

Canada Express Entry is not an immigration program by itself. It is an online application designed to control Canada’s immigration intake. It is a method of selecting the most qualified candidates for Canada’s qualified worker program for immigration.

Express Entry is an easy, rapid, and effective immigration process that grants permanent residency to skilled workers who want to go to Canada.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements complete an online profile, known informally as the Expression of Interest (EOI), under one of the three Federal Canada immigration programs or any provincial program participating in the Canada Express Entry Pool.

Applicants’ profiles are ranked according to a system based on points known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The top-ranked applicants will be given the invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence. The applicants who receive an ITA must submit an urgently complete application and payment processing costs within 60 days.

The federal government hopes to complete all PR applications in just six months.

Why Did Canada Launch Express Entry Program?

Canada Express Entry is an example of the world of running an economic system that is flexible and fluid. Immigration system.

With simple modifications to the Comprehensive Ranking System, the Canadian government can utilize immigration to address the changes in the labor market and economy.

From 2015 onwards, two significant changes to the CRS were implemented:

  • In November of 2016, the system was modified to lower the points awarded for job offers and introduce points for Canadian educational credentials. In addition, the “job offer” definition has been extended to include LMIA-exemplified job offers.
  • As of June 2017, a second modification added points for advanced French skills ( NCLC 7 or higher) and a sibling living in Canada.

How To apply For The Canada Express Entry Program?

An application for the Express Entry system is a two-step procedure:

Make your online profile.

Candidates seeking permanent residency in 347 professions (including Management & Financial Services; Engineering, Information Technology & Sciences; Health Occupations; Skilled Trades, etc. ) that meet the requirements for Entry to the country can make an Expression of Interest profile for consideration to the Canada Express Entry Pool.

The criteria for selection include education, age, language proficiency, and work experience, among other aspects.

The applicants’ profiles on the list are ranked using the comprehensive ranking system, which measures the contribution of their human capital to Canada.

Canadian employers unable to access Canadians to hire are urged to offer a job to the candidates they wish to hire through the Express Entry Pool. Candidates who have provincial nominations receive the highest number of points (600), as do those who are offered managerial positions (National Occupation Classification, 00), receive 200 points, and candidates with offers from other employers (NOC O A, B,) receive 50 points.

The profiles of each candidate will be compared to other candidates from the same pool. Candidates with the highest scores will be assessed to be eligible for the invitation to apply to become Canadian permanent residents.

Candidates who have been invited must submit their complete applications within 60 calendar days. Invitations are given out during regular drawing throughout the entire year.

Successful applicants and their dependents will be reviewed within about six months.
